Temporary exhibition in cooperation with sculptur Tore Reisch Summer 2015.
Following the exhibition, the Falstad Centre bought Reisch’ sculpture Re-Remembering, by help of the Foundation Sparebankstiftelsen DNB. In the exhibition catalogue, Reisch tells about the questions that inspired him to make the sculpture:
Can the pain of living under oppression and the time spent incarcerated be traced in the genes of later generations?
Are those experiences stored in our genetic material, like the growth rings in a tree?
Is our DNA a reliable source of our identity?
The sculpture can trigger associations to the prisons we build for ourselves and others, but it can also activate more positive thoughts: The legacy of the Falstad survivors remains, and will continue to be remembered in the future.
